How do I create a CSR when using a server not listed?

Unfortunately, there are a great many server types nowadays, and many more always in the process of being created. We would like to provide instructions for them all, but because only several are used by over 90% of the internet community (as of June 2006), we chose instead to focus on the most commonly used ones.

Every server manufacturer (or SSL/TLS add-on, in some cases) should have detailed instructons on how to create a CSR. The only specifics that we require are:

  • The keys are 2048 bit length
  • The keys are RSA
