Citigroup Pilots Personal Digital Signatures with SWIFT for Payments
Global Transaction Services, a business of Citigroup Corporate and Investment Banking, and SWIFT announce
the successful completion of a proof of concept using double digital signatures
for payments via the SWIFTNet FileAct service, using the IdenTrust platform as a
second signature in addition to the SWIFT PKI security. The joint pilot is the first
step in a global project designed to implement corporate payments by using
personally signed files - payment or other - using a binding, interoperable identity
deployment based on the IdenTrust platform.

For many companies, especially small and midsize enterprises (SMEs), the ability to trade globally may well hinge on
the extent to which they can authenticate their own identities and those of their business partners, according to a new
survey of 127 senior executives worldwide conducted by the Economist Intelligence Unit and sponsored by IdenTrust.
Nearly three quarters of the executives were from SMEs.

The TWIST open standards organisation announces that it has established an identity working group
for the purpose of discussing the issues and bringing standardization and focus to the problem of identity fraud.
TWIST is incorporating identity validation rules in its open standards portfolio based on the Identrus rule set.
Together these two initiatives will enable the construction of "plug-and-play interfaces" between corporates and
between corporations and their banks.
